"Miss Jane Bowles" by Sir Joshua Reynolds Painting

This print of the famous painting "Miss Jane Bowles" by Sir Joshua Reynolds.   The portrait, painted around 1775, depicts Miss Jane Bowles, the eldest daughter of Oldfield Bowles. 

Reynolds, a prominent portrait painter and President of the Royal Academy of Arts, portrayed her kneeling and embracing her pet spaniel. 

The original oil on canvas painting is part of The Wallace Collection in London. 

It was acquired by the 4th Marquess of Hertford in 1850 and later bequeathed to the nation in 1897.
